Well, I'm not really sure how I would create this info as a tutorial. It's really more of a set of guidelines...
Your Google AdSense ads are generated using Javascript. Each ad requires its own block of Javascript to display the ads. There are variables within those code blocks that define the colors that will be rendered. Each color is referenced by its hexadecimal color code. Within the default Kwikcontent template, the Google AdSense ads are using the default ad colors and therefore do not need variable declarations. To alter the colors, you'll have to add to the Javascript code blocks. Here is the code block of Javascript variables for the default AdSense color scheme for the long strip of ads on the left side of your sites: google_ad_client = "{$domain.google_ad_client}"; google_ad_width = 120; google_ad_height = 600; google_ad_format = "120x600_as"; google_ad_type = "text_image"; {if $domain.google_ad_channel}google_ad_channel = "{$domain.google_ad_channel}";{/if} Note: There is some template logic in there. It is wrapped around the google_ad_channel variable. It's probably best for you to leave that line in tact, as-is. Now here is the same sized ad with a gray background, a black border, green links, blue text and red URLs: google_ad_client = "{$domain.google_ad_client}"; google_ad_width = 120; google_ad_height = 600; google_ad_format = "120x600_as"; google_ad_type = "text_image"; google_color_border = "000000"; google_color_bg = "CCCCCC"; google_color_link = "00FF00"; google_color_text = "0000FF"; google_color_url = "FF0000"; {if $domain.google_ad_channel}google_ad_channel = "{$domain.google_ad_channel}";{/if} Hopefully the variable names will be self-explanatory as to what areas they control. There are AdSense ads in every one of the template files on your site. You will need to make these changes in every template file where you require changes. That's not much of a tutorial, but hopefully it guides you in the right direction. If not, we can explore any questions you have. - Jeff
