First, realize that your site(s) will have just a little downtime while you upgrade. Also, keep in mind that these instructions will set up your sites with the new version of the software, but will not keep your layouts in tact. You will have to bring those back up to speed... sorry.
1) Within phpMyAdmin, do an export of your entire database. However, DO NOT INCLUDE the Structure or Auto-Increment values in the export. Just export the data. Also very important... check the box for "complete inserts." Also very important... export to file. Save that file to your computer.
2) You need to create a new database on your domain (or drop all tables form the old one).
3) Import the newest version of the db.sql in your Kwikcontent v1.0 software. This creates the shell of the database.
4) Empty the one row from the domain table.
5) Import the sql file you downloaded from your old database.
6) Upload all of the v1.0 files to your domain, overwriting all other files.
7) Ensure that your 'cache' and 'templates_c' directories are CHMOD 0777.
As you can see, you are basically doing a fresh install of the new software on the old domain... you're just importing the data from the old site to the database. It is, however, important to follow these steps carefully because the overall structure of the database has changed a bit.
Have fun with that
